The winner of the 1993 Nobel Prize for Peace, Nelson Mandela, has been honored with the striking of this limited edition issue medal.  

 

Nelson Mandela agreed that a portion of the sales of this Commemorative Silver Medallion will be donated to The Nelson Mandela Foundation.

The obverse was designed by British artist Avril Vaughan. The reverse was designed by artist Danuta Haremska.  The medal is minted in sterling .925 silver by the Mint of Norway to the most exacting proof quality.
